ROB YANDERS

Rob Yanders has had a long and storied career, on and off the court. As a player, he was successful at the highest levels- 3-time state champion, HS All-American, nationally ranked HS team, junior college All-American, Division 1 Missouri Valley All-Conference player, Team USA member, 4x European champion, and British national team member. He retired early, with a specific goal in mind--to serve others.

Using basketball as a tool, and implementing the tactics he used to become successful on the court, Yanders has transcended his scope as a player in the business world. He has founded multiple million dollar companies, and used his basketball acumen to serve the youth of his community (and others as well.) A gifted public speaker, he has spent countless hours motivating and mentoring thousands of individuals. While playing in Great Britain, he was awarded dual citizenship by the British government as a thank you for his role as a positive role model, professional athlete, and public speaker to the people of the country. As a coach he has coached innumerable college athletes, and an even larger amount of kids who just want to be the very best they can be at their level. As a skills trainer, he has honed the game of professionals all over the globe, including multiple NBA clients who swear by his abilities. College coaches cannot wait to send their players to him for sharpening, of both the skill and the mind--it’s what he does best.

He has spent time as a consultant for every level of basketball -from junior high to NBA. All levels reach out to him looking for insight into what it takes to be successful. Not just at basketball, but in life as well. Players, coaches, management, agents -all reach out to him for his unique insight into the mind of the successful athlete. He is intensely passionate about what he believes in, you must serve others to be great. Whether it is on the court with a 7 year-old just trying to learn a little basketball, or with a local businessman wanting to hear some encouragement and advice on how best to proceed, his vision is concrete. Putting others before yourself is the only way to truly move forward.

“The two best things that can be said about an athlete is that he or she is a winner and they have the image ability to make their teammates better. Rob is both of these. It’s no coincidence he has been a champion at all levels of the game and possesses the understanding and work ethic to instill those same qualities into the next generation of champions.”
— Anthony Tolliver, Portland Trailblazers

“Rob Yanders is the real deal. He not only develops his players into productive and skilled basketball players, but he also develops his players into productive people. He pushes you to your limit and then pushes you a little bit more to show you that you are capable of more than you think.”

During the Angels of the Hardwood event, 100 pairs of Nike shoes are given to those in need as well as Nike shirts, basketballs, and more. This year, the entire event will take place within the doors and on the courts of The Basketball Movement. Angels of the Hardwood is an idea by Rob Yanders, born out of a desire to give back to the community using the platform of basketball.
